Metal Spinning

The plate turning is a metal processing technique from ancient origins, which still retains deeply crafts elements today. Despite the technological evolution of machine tools, this process maintains unique characteristics, often not replicable by automated equipment, or only partially replicable. The manual skills and experience of the operator remain fundamental components.

The process consists in progressive deformation of a metal disc, until the desired shape is obtained. This is done through a tool that varies according to the type of processing:

Drawing deep

The printing (or drawing) is a process that allows you to transform a flat metal plate into an object, with a more or less complex geometry, through one or more steps.

The complexity of the form and the cavity depth directly influence the number of necessary operations: simple shapes and shallow cavities require a shorter succession of processing. Also, the size and quality of the material employed play a fundamental role in the success of the process.

Piccoli S.r.l. has 9 hydraulic presses, with powers up to 500 tons, able to manage processes at high performance and with high accuracy.
